Site Research - Old Street Station

I also thought that the stickers outside the underground was quite interesting as it was a simple geometric triangular shape so like small icons would be a nice fit to put an ad or close up shots of something.

The Old Street station was the place where I mostly go, so I looked around this station. Since Old street was an outgoing area, I was skeptical of where to put a campaign in this location. However, I went down to the underground where there is a lot of different structural areas, to place different campaigns and ads - although there probably restrictions in real life because of safety issues etc. To just broaden the scale and be more open, I thought that the ads on the floor would be quite interesting, as most people don't go over the yellow line (both the bumpy line and the taped line) for safety regulations, so lots of people can actually see it. I also realised I tend to stare at the yellow line a lot whist waiting for the train which is why I thought it would be a good idea to base the campaign on that area of the underground.

Immigration Problem: The Economist

https://www.economist.com/leaders/2019/11/16/voters-could-make-the-world-twice-as-rich-why-dont-they

This article talks about how voters that agree with Immigration can make the world rich/ their country rich, as the immigrants can earn a huge amount of profit by moving to a new place, however, due to laws and regulations and other stereotypes given by the citizens this isn't happening and instead immigration is seen viewed negatively.

Immigration Photojournals

This is the mood-board that I collected for the shoot. I decided that this would be suitable for the project as I wanted to make sure that the styling was influenced by real immigrants, I chose the timeline during 1900's (1907) as it was when immigration was at its peak. Thus created the stereotypical styling for immigrants but still prevalent to this date, so citizens can still identity the individual in the photograph as a immigrant and not confuse it with something else.

Guerrilla Marketing

Makes you second guess what you throw in trash - especially food, as well as think of the struggles of the homeless.

This was the main inspiration for the first outcome. The work allows the viewers to think about what they should buy and also think of what they could help and donate to the charity. I found this really interesting as it allowed me to imagine another world in the other side of the basket. Making you think twice and be confronted with the world problems in the everyday life. I felt that this approach would be successful for the issue of immigration and could be applied in railway stations that was previously researched.

Shows a exaggerated but clear idea of how people pollute their bodies and the world by smoking, creating an impression of what individuals who don't smoke see in individuals who do, allowing to try understand what people who don't smoke feel. - I feel like would be more interesting and powerful if there was some words on the poster so it is clear what message they are trying to send.

"Freedom of Speech on Belarus" - This shows the petition of freedom of speech in a country which may not have much.  The man is shown as a regular portrait but looking distressed. Shows how the normal and regular people's mouths in Belarus are covered with duct tape. Creating a metaphor how they are confined and captured in their own country.

Both of these uses bus seats to indicate how everyone can be a victim of a certain issue. Creating more awareness of something hidden in our everyday lives in to the light.

Korea

This shows a campaign for police in Korea in to putting trust in the police in schools. Creating a playful atmospheres for little kids/students as well as showing that they can depend on "strong' policemen in any violence they receive.

The shadow that I made whist taking this photo made me think of an idea of the salute -e.g. in the nazi (how it makes it much more sinister in that way - as its not on the book but as a shadow as if the person holding the book is doing it.

The treatment of women in this society/cult is very degraded and lacks the respect that a man should have towards women. It projects women as objects and talk as if they were. This poem, song, play and other forms of literature they create in this book is quite power tool into brainwashing women to think that they are lower than who they are. It is so horrifically beautiful.
